DogzLab began in a quiet mountain cabin, surrounded by books, the beauty of nature, the laughter of our children and the joyful chaos of our dogs. But the heart of our story starts with Dune, our sweet yellow Lab, and the moment we realized just how deep the bond between a child and a dog can be.

In 2016, after more than 13 incredible years by our side, Dune passed away. She had been more than a pet – she was a nanny to our kids, a hiking buddy, a late-night listener, and our rock through both the best and the hardest times.

Not long after, we found our 7-year-old son quietly cutting up old photos of Dune. He was gluing them onto the back of a clear phone case, fighting back tears. When we asked why, he said,

“I just don’t want to forget her.”

That moment stayed with us. It was painful, but it was also powerful.

It was the spark that lit DogzLab.

We began by designing custom phone cases with hand-drawn dog portraits – just for friends, family, and local rescues. Then came mugs. T-shirts. Tote bags. People kept asking for more, and in late 2017, our little Etsy shop took off – especially during that unforgettable Christmas.

Since then, DogzLab has grown far beyond what we imagined. We’ve worked with rescues, shelters, pet parents, and dog lovers from all over the world—each with their own story, their own Dune.

Today, we’ve moved everything to our own website to better serve our growing community, offer more designs, and keep building what really matters to us: a brand full of heart, creativity, and connection.

Dune may no longer be by our side, but she’s still running wild in our hearts and her spirit lives on in every product we create.
